John Quinn
Exercise Physiologist and High Performance Coach
With a career spanning more than 40 years, John Quinn is one of the most credentialled high performance professionals working in sport in Australia today.
John's career began as a sprints and relay coach for the Australian track and field team at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, the first of three Olympic campaigns he would go on to be involved in, including Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024. Across a decade at Essendon Football Club, John served as Head Fitness Coach and High Performance Manager, shaping the physical preparation of one of the AFL's most successful programs throughout the late 1990s and 2000s. He went on to become High Performance Manager at the GWS Giants, before later returning to the club as Academy Director, helping develop the next generation of AFL talent.
John's expertise extends well beyond Australian rules football. He has worked as Head Conditioner for the Socceroos, Strength and Conditioning Coach in the Indian Cricket League, Speed and Agility Coach for the Penrith Panthers NRL squad, and has consulted across track and field, swimming, tennis, rugby league and cricket throughout his career. Few practitioners in the country can speak to the physical demands of elite sport across such a broad range of codes.
At SportsFit, John brings this exceptional depth of experience to our clients as an Exercise Physiologist, delivering high-performance strength and conditioning programming and individual performance consulting. Whether working with elite athletes chasing a competitive edge or everyday clients wanting to move and perform better, John applies the same rigour and attention to detail that has defined his work at the highest level of Australian sport.
